MONROVIA-The principal of the Trinity United Methodist School Mr. Nyenkan C Wleh has with immediate effect expel Michael Kanneh, a young man who was recently seen arguing with an elderly woman in a social media video about wearing makeup.

According to authorities at the school the act recently Carried out by Michael was against the schools belief and has the propensity to destroy the school reputation, stating that though the school is still carrying out investigations and will be ready to release evidences as to why the action of expulsion was taken.

The School and it’s administration has made it clear that they see the act as a violation of the code of conduct for a student of the institution to be involved in any act that depicts homosexuality as it prints a bad image for the school itself.

At the same time, several individuals including human rights defenders have criticized the school administration for what they termed as ä violation of Michael’s rights as the Liberian Constitution gives every citizen the freedom to associate with who or whatever they wish.

With the many calls from human rights advocates and the LGBT community it is yet uncertain as to whether or not Michael will be given re-admission into Trinity United Methodist School.
