Ahead of the 2023 presidential, senatorial and representative election, power struggle has taken over Unity Party Margibi Chapter, as the disputed party drags to the Kakata 13th Judicial Circuit Court its new County officials.

Unity Party Margibi County Chapter Secretary-General, OJay Morris alarms that the February 20, 2023 convention was marked by fraud and irregularities, something that led them to take the matter to court for fair judgement.

He blames the Unity Party Vice Chair for Inter-governmental affairs Hon Ben Fofana for allegedly tampering with the electoral process.

He disclosed that during the convention in Kakata, 9 eligible delegates were denied voting rights based on the instruction of Margibi County District #4 Lawmaker who is the vice Chair for inter-governmental affairs at Unity Party, Hon. Ben Fofana.

Mr Morris added that upon the observance of those irregularities in the process, a complaint was filed to the party’s national executives for redress.

He lamented that after weeks of investigation, the committee on the convention disputes came out with several recommendations and call on the body to do the needful things.

He alleged that Hon Fofana conspired with the Unity Party Vice Chair for NEC affairs Cornelia Kruah-Togba and mandated the election committee to carry out the induction of the local county officials in the absence of other party executives.

Oja Morris informed reporters that they have been left with no alternative but to make use of the legal process.
