Partners in Health Liberia in collaboration with the Maryland county health team has trained 23 Maryland based Journalists on ethical Media Health reporting in Harper City, Maryland county.
The day-long training which brought together 23 Journalists from across Maryland county was held at the Methodist Hall in Harper City, on Thursday, February 22, 2024.
Giving an overview of the training, was Dr. Siedoh Freeman, Maryland county health officer, who explained that the training was aimed at acknowledging Journalists on ethical media health reporting in Maryland county.
Partners in Health Liberia, which focus on health programming and key milestones over the last ten years of accompaniment with the Government of Liberia, is a nonprofit making organization that seeks to delivered healthcare services in Liberia.
According to Mr. Sam Zota, Communication Director of Partners in Health said, the organization mission is to establish long term relationship with sisters organizations based in settings of poverty and strives to achieve two overarching goals.
Meanwhile, highlighting the role of the media in health reporting, PIH-Liberia communication specialist Mr. Luther Mafalleh said the main roles of the media is to communicate, inform, educate and entertain and also encourage public dialogue through facilitating critical dialectical examination of assumptions and premises by presenting a multi-subjectives views.
He added that the media played an important role in transforming the minds of the public in terms of information dissemination.
