BONG -Inhabitants of six communities in Bong County now have access to safe drinking water due to the construction of six new hand pumps in the area.

The provision of safe drinking water is part of the organization’s sanitation component in order to stop citizens from drinking unsafe water in their communities.

Nenikpoma is one of the non-for profit making organizations that was found in Bong County by Mrs. Youngor Barco Cole, the wife of Bong County Electoral District#3, Representative. Josiah Melvin Cole in order to help most especially, women by providing them with skill, training and also empower those women through loan to start small business, that will put food on their tables.

Nenikpoma has trained more than 200 women in their life skills training program in Bong County, that is now making some of those beneficiaries to be self independent, by working to  sustained themselves in the society.

Presenting the the six hand pumps keys to residents of those communities, the executive director of Nenikpoma, Mrs.Youngor Barco Cole stated that it was her team own way of identifying with those communities by providing safe drinking water.

The talk and do executive director of Nenikpoma said it was so sadden for citizens to be drinking from the creek and running water that could cause harm to the citizens.

The construction of the six hand pumps affected three electoral Districts in Bong County, which brought smile on the faces of residents who benefited from the kind gesture of Nenikpoma.

Mrs. Cole however told citizens to take good care of those hand pumps, in order to have access to safe drinking water.

She however told the citizens that, her organization will continue to identify with the needy as long God continue to bless her.

Some of those citizens who spoke during the ceremony of the presentation of the hand pumps, extolled. Mrs. Cole and her team for going on their aid.

“We want to say a big thank to you Mama. Youngor Barco Cole, for giving us safe drinking water in our community, we all know water is life, we have cried for hand pump in our area for too long, today we are happy for what you have done for us, this should not be the end, Mrs. Cole, please continue to think about us, like what you and your team have done” some of the citizens said.

The community dwellers how promised Mrs.Youngor Barco Cole and her team that, the hand pumps will be well taken care of.
