
A social media post and local reports allege that the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has suspended its Grand Bassa County Commander, Alfred Lackay, over corruption allegations.
The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency has confirmed the suspension of Commander Lackay.
According to the Public Relations office of the LDEA, Lackay was suspended following multiple allegations from residents in Buchanan, accusing him of compromising with drug dealers and extorting money.
LDEA Media Advisor Sam Collins, Chief of Public Relations G. Olando Demey, and Chief of Leeward Operations Precious Rue disclosed the action during an appearance on Radio Gbehzohn in Buchanan.
The agency stated that Lackay is under investigation at its Professional Standards Division and could be “immediately disrobed” if the allegations prove to be true.
