Voinjama, Lofa County – The Lofa County Sports Steering Committee has officially signed a contract agreement with Yombah Group of Companies for the construction of the first phase of the Lofa County Stadium project.
The signing ceremony took place on May 24, 2026, in Voinjama City and brought together county officials, sports stakeholders, and representatives of the contracting company. The event was attended by J. Lavelah Massaquoi, who joined members of the Sports Steering Committee in witnessing the formal agreement.
Officials described the project as a major step toward improving sports infrastructure and creating better opportunities for young people and athletes across Lofa County. The planned stadium is expected to support sporting activities, youth development, and county-based competitions.
According to the agreement, the first phase of the construction project is expected to be completed within approximately 18 weeks. The signing officially marks the beginning of work on what many residents see as a historic development for sports in the county.
Local authorities and sports supporters have welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that the stadium will help strengthen talent development and promote community engagement through sports.
