The Center for Media Studies and Peace Building (CEMESP) in partnership with Internews-Liberia has commenced a two days ‘Trafficking in person Refresher Training for Liberian Journalists.

The training which commenced on Thursday, March 28, 2024 in Ganta City, Nimba county is expected to climax on Friday, March 29, 2024.

It brought together 25 Liberian Journalists from eight counties, namely; Maryland, Nimba, Sinoe, Grand Kru, Grand Bassa, Grand Gedeh, Lofa, Grand Cape Mount and Montserrado.

Giving an overview of the training, was Mr. Dickson N. Williams, Admin/Finance Officer for CEMESP said the training is intended to improve Journalists skills on reporting human trafficking stories.

According to him, the refresher training will help to acknowledge and enhanced journalists on how to gather and report TIP stories,noting that, this is not the first time for CEMESP to conduct such a educative training for Liberian Journalists.

Mr. Dickson N. Williams disclosed that those attending the two days training shouldn’t only be a participant but to also engage the expert facilitators through a participatory dialogue in other to acquire the required knowledge on how to gather and report TIP stories.

Those facilitating the training are; Mr. Theophilus Gippley, M&E Officer of CEMESP, Mr. Adolphus Sartiah, Consultant of Public Trust Media Group, Mr. Alphonso George, Senior Media Trainer, Mr. Frank Sainwrola, Consultant, Public Trust Media Group
