BONG: A lady in her early 40 has launched a passionate plea, to the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nenikpoma. Mrs. Youngor Cole to  incorporates her in their live skill training program.

Speaking to our Bong County Correspondent, Mamie Torkolon stated that she wants to participate in the women life changing program by going through intensive training within the county, in order to be self-dependent.

The lady who sells palm wine for survival said if the opportunity is given to her to participate in the life changing program, she will be able to transform from selling palm wine to another bigger business, through the skill training program.

Nenikkpoma is a non-governmental organization that is in the gap of helping, women in Bong County and other counties in Liberia to train them in different skills, and empower them through business by providing funding for beneficiaries to start a business.

Mamie Torkolon recounted that she usually sells palm wine before she and her children can have meals on their table, something she terms as a serious embarrassment for her as mother of several children.

‘’Let me take this time to tell our mother, Ma. Youngor Barco Cole thank you for helping my friend women, some of whom are currently making their own business, they are not contingent on men to provide for them before they can do something for themselves, through your organization, those women are moving strong, I am calling on our mother to please do the same for some of us, So I can stop selling palm wine under the rain just to feed my family” Said Mamie Torkolon.

She however encouraged other women who participated in the life changing program to make use of it, instead of depending on their husband to provide all of their needs within the home.

The organization has trained over hundreds of women in different disciplines that are making headway within their different communities.
